The Wink is a labor of love, occasional source of ire and constantly influenced by the toddlywinks in my life- my daughters. There's also the HunkyWink. You'll read all about them as The Wink unfolds. Please feel free to wink back!

Before no more

Been chasing rainbows and kissing butterflies.
Riding piggyback and rubbing noses.
Cause lately it's just too clear, how fast it'll all go.

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee,
Little jackie paper loved that rascal puff,
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. oh

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on puffs gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow wheneer they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flag when puff roared out his name. oh!

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee.

A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened, jackie paper came no more
And puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave,
So puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. oh!

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee.

Don't you forget to play and love.

Peter Paul and Mary...brings back memories of my dad watching them on PBS when I was little. That is only song I remember.

I seem to remember that Puff the Magic Dragon was one of my brother's favorites - that's going way back when there were no worries, it was always summer and we were always outside. Playing. Sigh-h-h.

It truly is going too fast. I wish there was some way to slow it all down... but since there's not... it's just all the more important to just relax and enjoy every moment.

It's right along there with "The Giving Tree" how it makes me cry to think of it. I'm going to skip the dishes and play outside all day today.

You always have a way of wording/presenting things in such a way that makes my heart swoon.

My parents listened to PP&M when I was a kid and "Puff" was something I heard a lot. It brings back some very distince memories. It's a sad song, though.

My mom wouldn't let me watch Puff the Magic Dragon when it was aired once a year. Why? I suppose it was the sobbing that I did hysterically during and the weeks after.

And one of my favorite local entertainers, he sings this sometimes, and I have to go to the bathroom because seriously, not gonna get any boys with mascara and snot running down my face.

Just a reminder, love, of how much I do love you, because you just know the things that are here within me. Green scales and all.

Hugs. Kisses. A hand to hold.
