Girl Crush
Daughter crush, really. And father of daughters crush.
For all my fretting and frustration, I have been having a good time - falling in love with these girls and settling into a rhythm. I am sure there will be hiccups, but taking two ours Friday afternoon at the beach in Bolton and then three hours in my own backyard on Saturday, I am refreshed.
Who knew you could just have fun with your kids?! No projects. No hassles. Just together. Loving it.
The sigh that escaped me also threatened to tip me. Tomorrow I am off to get my hair done and then Thursday it is off to BlogHer. I hope to spend many hours in between doing silly things like walks in the rain with one daughter at a time and swatting Sean for stunts like telling me the bug on the chair was a freaking queen ant and that we were under attack.
Here's a taste of what has had me so happy:

The photo looks like something Escher might do - the shadow looks like it belongs to the leg in the photo, yet the angle makes it appear that the shadow is standing, but that's not possible, because the leg is sitting, but it's attached to a shadow that...
See what I mean?
I'm finding that my favorite times are also those where we just walk out into the yard and have some unplanned fun. No pressure, just go where the mood takes us. I'm glad you're loving that, too.
BTW, thanks for creating a lot more work for me. I've long been dissatisfied with the swingset we bought from WalMart because it's so flimsy. After seeing yours, I now HAVE to build a new one. From scratch. And oh yes, I'll be competing with yours. Just so you know.
Have fun at blogher. Are guys allowed at that thing?

I cannot get enough of seeing Avery frolicking in utter defiance of the cast! I LOVE that kid. And the backyard swingset....I mean....playground extraordinaire over the pool looks like WAY too much fun!
